Dutch media reveals new future aircraft type in the making

Luchtvaartnieuws reports that Dutch company Fokker Next Gen is developing a hydrogen-powered aircraft, set to be launched in 2035, providing a new opportunity for CO2-neutral aviation. With European and Dutch subsidies, Fokker Next Gen and Rolls-Royce are already developing a hydrogen-compatible aircraft engine and planning to convert a Fokker 100 to fly on hydrogen, the knowledge from which will be used in the new aircraft's development:


New light on FAA's role in 2022 flight disruptions

CNN reports that the Biden administration publicly criticized airlines for flight delays and cancellations last year while downplaying its own role in the disruptions, according to internal FAA records obtained by the news outlet. Reportedly, these records showed that the FAA was aware of its understaffing issues, especially at a critical air traffic control facility in northern Florida, contributing to thousands of flight disruptions. According to the report, the Biden administration used the flight disruptions to pressure airlines to improve customer service, despite the fact that some of the delays were due to government staffing shortages:

According to the Economic Times India, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has unveiled a three-pronged government strategy for India's rapidly growing aviation sector, aiming to create capacity, eliminate bottlenecks for industry players, and simplify processes. The ambitious plan includes the expansion of the number of airports, heliports, and waterdromes from the current 148 to over 200 in the next three to four years:
