New Flyover In Lahore To Open Today

In the heart of Punjab, Lahore’s vibrant spirit often contends with the challenges of its swelling population. Karnal Sher Khan (Shaheed) Flyover, formerly known as Ghora Chowk Walton Road.

According to reports, the flyover will be open to the public on December 22, 2023, at 4:00 pm. The official notice regarding the news has yet to be issued.

Ghora Chowk Flyover Project

To counteract the traffic snarls from Gulberg to Defense Morr, this project was initiated by the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab).

Background of the Flyover Project

The Ghora Chowk Flyover Project comes on the heels of successful underpass constructions at Kalma Chowk, redirecting traffic patterns but causing bottlenecks at Khalid Butt Chowk and Ghora Chowk. To remedy this, the Punjab Cantonment Board and Defence Development Authority joined forces to construct a 3-lane Flyover at Ghora Chowk, an integral part of the Signal Free Corridor initiative.

Traffic Diversion Plan
