Microsoft Excel has been consistently evolving to provide users with powerful features that enhance their data analysis and collaboration capabilities. Here are some notable new features that have been introduced in recent versions:
Excel 2021 introduced several features to enhance collaboration and data analysis. Co-authoring allows multiple users to work on the same Excel workbook simultaneously. Dynamic Arrays enable efficient handling of complex calculations and data transformations. XLOOKUP offers a flexible and powerful way to search and retrieve information. The LET function simplifies formula writing by allowing named expressions. Please note that certain features may not be included in Excel LTSC 2021 for commercial customers.
2. May 2022 Update: Enhanced Power Query and Performance
The May 2022 update brought the general availability of Power Query refresh for selected data sources. Excel for the web gained the ability to change the source file for workbook links. Performance improvements across Excel for Windows and Mac, including faster AutoFilter functionality, were implemented to enhance the overall user experience
3. January 2023 Update: PivotTable Details and Power Automate Integration
In January 2023, Excel introduced new capabilities. PivotTable show details became available in Excel for the web, offering deeper insights into data. Additionally, users can now automate tasks using the Power Automate tab in Excel for Windows and Mac, streamlining workflows and increasing efficiency.
