New FCA Greenwashing rules

The FCA have issued Policy Statement (PS23/16) of the final rules and guidance to improve trust and transparency to the market for sustainable investment products. It follows their consultation on Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and investment labels (CP22/20), issued in October 2022.

Have you had time to digest? Here are some key questions you need to ask within your firm in relation to PS23/16:

1. Does your product development process have the ability to draw out and detail product characteristics and disclosure requirements in line with the PS23/16?
2. Will your product life cycle process be able to adequately challenge and evaluate the new rules when considering new products?
3. Have you thought about the transparency that will be required for products in your existing catalogue that may not meet the regulator's labelling requirements and how this will be acknowledged to your client base?
4. Will you need to update your firm's sustainability objectives, investment policy and strategy following the issue of this PS?
