Meet the new family members Eeva Leskinen and Johan G?dda

 The Bofor family keeps on growing as consultants Eeva Leskinen and Johan G?dda joined us recently. Bofor is on a mission to help our customers reach new sales heights by unleashing the power of their customer data. Our new consultants are specialised in Microsoft solutions and are impressively skilled in using Microsoft Dynamics to turn customer data into gold.

After their first weeks on the job, Eeva and Johan took the time to have a chat about their experiences, impressions, feelings, and expectations so far, as well as shed light on what is it about Bofor that appeals to them.  

Let’s hear it from them: Eeva and Johan, the floor is yours.

 The first day at Bofor

Starting a new job amid a pandemic can be a daunting challenge: how to settle into the work community and get on top of your assignments efficiently when everyone has retreated to their remote home offices?

Johan: Actually, things went even better than I had expected. Everything was well planned and ready for us, so we knew exactly what to do and where to start. There was no additional stress.

Eeva: We also got to meet everyone during the introduction while taking the necessary precautions. Each of the four founders had “their day”, so to say, when we spent time with them face to face. I really appreciated that.

 The importance of being yourself

Eeva: From the very beginning we talked about “the Bofor family” which would be – and is – a welcoming community where everyone can be their genuine selves. I don’t feel the need to have a “work persona” here. I can just be me, both at work and away. In addition to that, advancing diversity, inclusivity, and multiculturalism, as well as having an open-minded workplace culture are extremely important to me. Knowing that Bofor shares these values assures me that I’m in the right place with the right people.

Johan: I agree with Eeva. One cannot exaggerate the significance of shared values when considering whether a job is suitable for you. The chance to keep on improving my skills and learning new things at work is also essential to me – and I’m happy that Bofor supports this.

Eeva: We truly have a say in what we want to do, learn, and accomplish here.

 

 

It’s more than tech

Eeva: Bofor doesn’t only deal with technical solutions. It’s heavily focused on the business side of customer relationship management and the power of customer data – this is what piqued my interest.

Johan: Mine too. I spent roughly three years working in tech and wanted to expand my job description and my knowledge beyond that. At Bofor, we don’t just push technology as a quick solution to every issue. Focusing on our customer’s business as a whole allows us to provide a more complete solution than simply saying that switching to a new software will make everything better. As a generalist, I prefer to think about the bigger picture and look at the problem from different angles.

Eeva: I think Bofor is an ideal workplace for someone who has a broad understanding of various things instead of a specific niche. Our process requires different roles with different skills relating to customer data.

Johan: The main point is to help our customers to best serve their customers.

 

The perks of a small company

Johan: The start-up spirit is definitely there, in a good way. The open, informal culture encourages a healthy amount of boldness needed to create new ways of doing things, a new kind of story.

Eeva: One of the biggest strengths of small companies – Bofor included – is that they are very agile. Therefore, we can change direction swiftly if needed. Also, titles might be important to some but here we don’t obsess over them. Everyone can take part in the things they want to and find the areas in which they want to further their knowledge. 

Johan: The absence of strict hierarchy, bureaucracy, and formality isn’t a recipe for chaos. Leadership is there when it’s needed but there’s no unnecessary micromanaging. They trust our expertise – that’s why we’re here. There’s a good balance of responsibility and support.

 

And what might the future hold?

Johan: This is a unique kind of business that has attracted a lot of interest. We’re growing organically and continue to develop Bofor, as well as develop ourselves as industry experts. The whole world of IT keeps on changing and introducing new innovations at a rapid pace, which is exciting.

Eeva: We grow along with the company. Thinking ahead, the chance to build Bofor’s demo collection fascinates me. I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibilities and welcoming new people with new ideas into the Bofor family.
