I've got some exciting insights from the 2024 Paris Olympics that I just had to share. Specifically, let's talk about the men's 1500m race and the surprising shift in running shoe preferences among the world's top athletes.
Check out this chart I put together! It shows the running shoes worn by athletes in the men's 1500m race, including the heats. While Nike is still on top, ON has made a huge splash, coming in second. As a running fanatic and tech geek, I find this super exciting!
The Decline of Traditional Brands
Interestingly, the chart also shows a decline in some of the traditional brands. For instance, Asics, once a go-to brand for runners, was barely represented with just one pair in the race. It seems like athletes are now gravitating towards newer, more innovative brands that offer advanced technology and performance enhancements.
The Future of Running Shoe Brands
The 2024 Paris Olympics marked a pivotal moment for running shoe brands. ON's growing popularity signals a shift towards brands that prioritize innovation and performance. As athletes continue to seek out the best gear, it’s clear that the running shoe market is evolving.

How I Gathered the Data
I compiled this data myself by closely watching TV footage of the race. For any shoes I couldn’t identify on TV, I checked the athletes' Instagram accounts. Pretty thorough, right?

6 个月Interesting. We are seeing history happening in real time, however it will be wise to wait a few more years (or Olympics). In the photo there are two Nikes, one Saucony and one On. Too soon to tell IMO

6 个月I would not say those are preferences; on the contrary most of those runners have sponsorships agreements and the companies with more wallets will win.
