As a Commercial Drone Pilot, the effect that battery life has on the average mission is significant. Time is money, and the quicker the Pilot can turn around the required data for the client who needed it yesterday; the better.
Although fixed wing options have provided the long range flight time and distance, the ability to conduct of Vertical Take off and Landing (VTOL) is a past luxury and a present necessity based on the requirements of the client. Why would you invest 5 or 6 figures unless that platform can perform ALL possible tasks? Why would you invest in a cheap knock off with no warranty or ongoing maintenance support and therefore lifeline!
With a VTOL rotary platform Endurance of 2+ hours with 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) payload and Maximum Expected Range (at cruise speed) of 112 km; the solution is simple, robust and reliable. This is the answer to the many challenges that Drone Pilots face regardless of Industry and for those in the larger organisations requiring tenders or multiple signatures ensuring a sound investment, this is the closest thing you will get to the best case scenario in terms of value.
This opens up a whole new realm of Contracts and capability offered by Pilots who wish to enter the Market as the true professionals, a cut above the rest and win the big ongoing contracts. Or simply for those organisations with their own internal Drone/UAV department a one off investment into a capability that will cover all tasks.
This is most certainly the platform that will pay dividends.
