New Era in Claddagh Credit Union

We are excited to announce a new chapter in the story of your credit union – a new era, a new look, new services, all tied in with providing the same great service with the same great people.

We wish a fond farewell to the name ‘St. Anthony’s & Claddagh Credit Union’ and would now like to introduce ourselves to you as….

Founded almost 60 years ago, your Credit Union has always adapted to meet the needs of our members and the changing times. Working as your loyal financial partner we now embark on this new era as Claddagh Credit Union developing our range of services for a growing, diverse community all overseen by our new CEO, Louise Shields.

Our new logo is a visual reflection of our core values intertwined with our all-important Galway roots. It is inspired by:

• The design of the Claddagh ring and its associated symbolism of love, friendship and loyalty. This is reflective of our values and the trusted relationship we have with you, our member.
• The logo also references the international credit union icon – hands around a globe – which is a symbol of inclusion and diversity.
• The iconic Galway symbols are also evident with subtle swan and water images in the design. The fingers wrapping around one hand are suggestive of a wing as well as water waves and the thumb forms a stylised swan head reference. You can’t get more Galway than that.
• And finally, our new colours are inspired by the natural beauty of Galway city and county. The greens and purples represent the landscape, sea, mountains & heather found in our unique Galway location.

As we begin this new chapter, we are excited to develop our existing range of services to meet the needs of all our members. We have loans to help you make a difference in your life, like electric car loans to make your journey to green easier; current accounts with globally accepted Mastercard debit cards & overdrafts for access to your local credit union wherever you are; home, life & travel Insurances to protect that which you hold dear; easy & convenient online access to your account & a mobile app for transactions on the move. We also aim to introduce mortgage services by the end of the year which will be a trusted way for our members to purchase a new home. In short, all the financial services you need from your Credit Union.

As you know, community has always been at the heart of our organisation and this is not going to change. Claddagh Credit Union will continue to lend a helping hand and offer support to a variety of local projects. Not only do you get the best financial services designed for your needs, your membership also directly benefits you and your community.

There is no need for our members to change any of the ways they do business with us, you can still go about your transactions in the same way.

So, while we may look different, you will still find the same faces behind the counter or at the end of the phone, ready & willing to assist you on your financial journey.
