New England is a craft beer mecca. According to the Brewers Association, it is home to over 600 craft breweries, and that’s not even counting distilleries, wineries, cideries, and meaderies. We even have our own beer style, New England IPA. This style of American IPA?has an intense citrusy hop aroma and flavor. It's heavily dry hopped to the point of being hazy and?isn’t as bitter as a West Coast style IPA.?
We could write a whole book covering all the different locations?you could visit in New England, but this is a blog. We’re here to give you some ideas of the places you can visit when you’re not at #PestWorld2022. Whether you’re staying in Boston the entire time, or venturing up to Maine or down to Rhode Island, there is plenty to see and drink in New England. ?
Boston is home to far more beer than the infamous Sam Adam’s Boston Lager. During your PestWorld stay, you’ll have many options for adult imbibement, if you’re into that sort of thing. One of the most visited breweries in the Boston area is Boston Beer Company, the producer of Samuel Adams Beer and one of the?OGs in the craft beer world. So, if you’re interested in seeing if a Boston Lager ‘hits different’ in Boston, be sure to visit the Sam Adams Boston Tap Room, less than 2 miles and a 35-minute walk from the Hynes Convention Center.
After you’ve had your fill of Sam Adams, it’s less than a mile trip to Trillium Brewing Company. Known for its award-winning lineup of beers (especially double and triple IPAs), Trillium was ranked third among the?top breweries in the country according to RateBeer.com (a website focused on consumer-driven beer ratings).
Another 15-minute walk and you’ll land at the original Harpoon Brewery. Don’t forget to get yourself a pretzel. And lucky for us, each of these breweries offers a fantastic Octoberfest!?
If you’re planning to venture outside of the Boston area but still stay in Massachusetts, consider checking out Notch Brewing in Salem, Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers in Framingham, and Tree House Brewing in Charlton. You won’t be disappointed with any of their brews. ?
