New England Patriots Executive Visits Dean College
Did you know that the Kraft Sports Group and Dean College are partners?
The two organizations have had a relationship since 2009, but earlier this year they collaborated to establish The Center for Business, Entertainment and Sport Management.
The agreement is an enhancement to an existing relationship that will strengthen the synergy of the two parties through the direct involvement of Patriots and Revolution executives, who will participate with members of the Dean Faculty in classroom activities for programs Dean College offers. Programs include: Arts and Entertainment Management, Business, Media Studies and Communications, Security Management, Sport Management and Sports and Fitness Studies.
Just today, The Center welcomed Murray Kohl, vice president for corporate sponsorship sales for the New England Patriots, to campus. Students were given the opportunity to hear from and interact with Kohl, who discussed the importance of branding and sales within the Kraft Sports Group, a pioneer and leader in the sports industry.
Following Kohl’s discussion, students were invited to ask questions, such as “What makes the Kraft Sports Group different than other sport organizations?” To which Kohl answered, “We try hard. We adapt. And, we are the only NFL team that owns and operates its stadium, which gives us a huge advantage.”
Dean College President Paula Rooney added that the sport industry is all encompassing. “No matter what your major, there are opportunities everywhere within this field.” And in terms of diversity, Kohl noted that over half of the executives at the Kraft Sports Group are female.
After Q&A with the audience, Kohl encouraged students to “ask questions and take advice whenever you can.”
