1. PowerCo, Umicore all set with their JV to make Battery materials in EU

Volkswagen Group's PowerCo and Belgian firm Umicore have obtained full regulatory approvals for their joint venture on battery materials. The partners can now swiftly proceed to prepare for large-scale industrial production of cathode active materials (CAM) and precursor materials (PCAM) in Europe. (ETN news)

Wardwizard operationalizes its in-house 1 GWh EV Battery assembly Wardwizard Innovations and Mobility - the Indian manufacturer of Joy e-bike brand - has recently commenced the operations of a lithium-ion battery assembly line with a capacity of 1 GWh. This move comes under the Phase 1 development of the company's EV ancillary cluster located at Vadodara, Gujarat.(ETN news)

3. LG Energy Solution Building US Factory With 16GWH Dedicated to Battery Storage

LG Energy Solution will build a new battery cell factory in the US with 43GWh annual manufacturing capacity, including 16GWh dedicated to the stationary energy storage market. Scheduled to break ground this year, the complex will feature twin production facilities, one for cylindrical 2170 battery cells targeting the electric vehicle (EV) sector with 27GWh annual production capacity, the other making lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pouch cells for energy storage systems (ESS).
