I hope this message finds you well. I am pleased to inform you of a significant development in trade facilitation that directly impacts our export community: the introduction of the new Electronic Bank Realization Certificate (eBRC) System by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
Here's what you need to know:
- What is the new eBRC System? The new eBRC System allows exporters like yourself to self-certify your bank realization certificates, and helps you manage your export documentation.(i) Banks receiving Export Remittances will push the Inward Remittance Messages (IRM) message to the DGFT IT system electronically(ii) Banks shall push the IRMs about the Trade Account only i.e. for goods and services only and not for capital goods.
- How does it work?Upon logging onto the DGFT Website (https://dgft.gov.in) using your Import Export Code (IEC) linked to your PAN, you will have access to your Inward Remittance Messages (IRMs).(i) You can then match these IRMs with relevant shipping bills, SOFTEX, or invoice details to create your eBRCs.(ii) Multiple IRMs can be grouped under one eBRC, or one IRM can be split amongst several eBRCs.
- Where can you access the eBRC System? The eBRC System can be accessed through the DGFT website. Once logged in, you'll find the necessary tools and resources to navigate the system efficiently.(i) eBRCs can be generated for Goods Exports, Services Exports, Deemed Exports. vi. (ii) The RBI Purpose Code and other fields mentioned in the IRM shall be used to validate the eBRC fields being certified by the Exporter.
- What actions do you need to take?Familiarize yourself with the new eBRC System and its functionalities.Ensure your IEC details are up to date and linked to your PAN for seamless access to your IRMs.Begin utilizing the self-certification feature for your eBRCs, following the outlined process.
- Where can you find more information and support?Detailed guidelines and FAQs on the new eBRC are available on the DGFT website under the Learn Section.(i) Should you have any questions or require assistance, >> raise a ticket via the DGFT website.
- Now IEC should also be obtained by Service providers which was not the mandatory case earlier
- It seems that the various export and compliance portals ICE GATE, EDPMS, SOFTEX, IEC, GST etc shall be integrated with the information of c Inward Remittance Messages (IRMs) and eBRC shall be crucial from the perspective of declaration/acceptance by the exporter
Here's to a seamless and successful export journey ahead!
