New device file upload capabilities in Azure IoT Central
Azure IoT Central's file upload capability enables your devices to send media and files to the cloud. Files will be stored and organized in an Azure storage endpoint of your choosing.
Setting up file upload is simple. Go to the Administration > Device file upload section of your IoT Central app and configure the storage endpoint (Azure Blob storage) you’d like to use to store your files. Once that's done, devices will use IoT Hub's SDK native capability to request a file upload token and upload the file to the cloud. We've created end to end samples to help you understand how to upload files from your devices (link below).
Where can I learn more? ??
- Documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/howto-configure-file-uploads
- Azure Samples: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/samples/iot-for-all/iotc-file-upload-device/iotc-file-upload-device/
Known limitations ??
Currently there’s no notification capabilities to inform you when a device has completed uploading a file within IoT Central. We're working to address this in future releases.
