New Comer Interview #3 : Welcome Magali!
What convinced you to apply for a job at TE? Why TE and not another company?
"I discovered TE with a customer service associate role, but I realized this job was below my expectations at this time. So, I declined the offer. One month later, the role of customer care manager came up, a role that was more suitable for my profile, so I decided to apply for it! During the recruitment process, I was drawn to the people that I met: their approach, their dynamism, and their way of working. I wanted to be a part of this atmosphere".
How would you describe your role at TE?
"Regarding customer care, we are in the middle of all the other departments: we are the first contact with customers, managing everything that occurs from orders to expeditions. Dealing with customers' issues and seeing what their needs are. Internally, our role is to ensure the smooth running of the shipment process. It is a wealthy and fundamental role because we bring together information from all the different departments in order to get back to our customers”.
Do you participate in events to create links with customers?
“I regularly take part in video conferences with customers, to get to know them better and respond better to their needs. Other than that, I interact with factories worldwide, working with Chinese and American factories for instance”.
What project are you currently working on with your team?
“The goal is to rationalize our structure and reorganize, in order to provide an extraordinary customer care experience”.
What are the principal challenges in your role?
“In the context of global scale lack of components, the first challenge is to satisfy customers and communicate with them, to inform them of the evolution of their orders and the actions we are taking to meet their needs. We put all our energy into communicating constantly with them”.

Regarding the health crisis, is it hindering your job? What is your point of view on decisions taken by TE?
“It is obvious to say that switching to remote work was a challenge at first, nevertheless that did not disturb our work because we found ways to adapt to this new situation. For instance, once a week, I decided to gather everyone to raise the mood of the team and avoid anyone being alone. We also do a video conference every day on Microsoft Teams, to see what the news is. I set up weekly '1 to 1' meetings with each member of the team to keep a strong relationship. Above all, my aim during this period is to keep cohesion despite being far away from each other. I take care to address the issues that could occur with remote work. Finally, regarding TE, I find that the team made flexible decisions and have managed to successfully adapt to this situation”
What are your achievements since you joined TE?
“I found my place quite easily in the company, there is a 'welcoming culture' at TE! Each person came to me to introduce themselves. Regarding my team, I know that the change in manager was tough for them, but I have the feeling now that we are more united, we are building strong relationships”.
Could you describe the spirit of your team? What kind of initiatives are taken to strengthen the link in the team?
“It is an independent, motivated team which at the same time is unified to help each other. This creates a pleasant working environment. Regarding my team in Timisoara, we schedule regular meetings together in which they can communicate and share this good vibe despite the distance.
We are eager to celebrate on special days! For instance, we did a “Secret Santa” (offering presents to team members picked out randomly) we shared a Christmas dinner, and we also participated in the Telethon. Likewise, we took part in the annual “Orange day” and, finally, we regularly walk together during our lunch breaks.
Have you encountered any challenges in your career as a woman?
“I never felt it was an obstacle to me, I never experienced bias. Customer care jobs are generally categorized as 'feminine jobs', so, in this regard, I do not feel that people trust me less because I am a woman”.
What are your professional goals and how would your work at TE allow you to achieve them?
“At TE, there are a lot of internal jobs opportunities which is motivating. It is too early to project myself just yet, but I feel that there is a culture here that allows everyone to evolve. I find that the management trusts employees to follow initiatives and to take on new responsibilities”.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to apply at TE?
“I would say to stop hesitating! (laugh). This is a very pleasant company to work in day-to-day, with everyone working together to improve processes in a good atmosphere. TE Connectivity is a workplace where it is easy to find new challenges and new projects. Furthermore, diversity is promoted. All diverse profiles are welcome!”.
