NO NEW CLIENTS NEEDED!
Finally, after 21 years in business, as a company, we have decided-we are not accepting any new clients! That's right, we don't need or want any new clients. It's a waste of time for everyone involved.
Especially the idea of a "shared" clients in this economy, which can minimize and commoditize the experience and the ability to properly service them. What we do want are PARTNERS. Partners are companies that work together to come up with ideas, agree upon strategies that lead to results!! There is a huge difference.
Many companies share the same common problem today- bad talent pool of GOOD experienced employees. NOT the candidates that had five jobs in six years, NOT the candidates that tell you they are fast learners, NOT the ones who take a sick day their first week and then need two more days off their second week, NOT the ones that apply for a job requiring 8+ years of experience but never worked in your industry or held a similar type position. Any company can find those people. Place an ad on Zip, Monster, Indeed etc and enjoy the ride but either during this process or right after, the hiring manager decides to call a few of their go-to/favorite recruiting firms and makes mention the need someone ASAP. Next, they all start sending resumes because their "client" asked them to do so. This is a broken process!!
What happens next is anyone's guess, but it will look something like this:
- Client receives a bunch of resumes, some are redundant and some are not even what the client asked for because each agency is throwing as much against the wall as quick as possible.
- Client holds resumes for a week or forgot the hiring manager goes on vacation, some candidates are no longer on the market which means recruiters race to find others to fill up the interview slots, to increase the chances of filling the position.
- All the while Client is still receiving resumes from their earlier job posting(even some of the Recruiter's candidates start to answer the ad)
- Client stops receiving any new resumes because recruiters moves on to another position for many reasons: A few agencies are involved, client is not moving fast enough, position put on hold, no feedback, etc.
- Client might or might not fill position via an agency but wasn't happy with the results or experience.
Is this the result either party wants, how does that add quality to a relationship?- It doesn't -but if you have a PARTNERSHIP, its a different scenario.
Partner client and partner recruiter communicate with some regularity: weekly, monthly, or quarterly so when positions open, there is a level of comfort. Partner recruiter is NOT always selling but simply saying hello. Because the partner recruiter already knows you, been out to see you, and completely understands your culture, he/she always has an eye out for the type of person /background that historically gets interviewed and resumes are not emailed in mass. Quantity evolves to Quality! Partner client receives four to five good resumes, a few get interviews within a week, and feedback is provided on interviews as neither partner goes MIA. Second interviews take place the following week and an offer is made and accepted 14 days after job was presented by partner.
Which scenario sounds more appealing?

5 年Perfectly stated and I wish that more recruiters operated with this mindset (and that you hired for sales and business development professionals). This is sorely needed within your industry. Keep up the great work!
Partners are always better than clients. Creating partnerships with your clients maximizes the experience for both the customer and provider.
