For over 127 years, the Godrej Group has been a name recognized in every Indian household. This empire of business, built by generations of the Godrej family, has now been split between two branches.

The Split: Two New Entities Emerge

Essentially, this means that the businesses under Adi Godrej and his brother Nadir Godrej are being separated from those under their cousins Jamshyd Godrej and Smita Crishna’s oversight. Leadership Transitions Paved

Succession strategies are in place for each of the companies under this division. In 2026 Pirojsha Godrej is expected to replace Nadir Godrej as GIG’s chairman while Nyrika Holkar, Smita Crishna’s daughter, currently serves as an executive director at GEG.
