At Microsoft Ignite Nov 2021, Microsoft announced several new updates to the "Cloud for Healthcare" which is an industry tailored environment (they also have them for Finance, Manufacturing and Not for Profit sectors) which "help deliver trusted and integrated capabilities to manage health data at scale with easy-to-deploy tools."
Some of the new update announced this week include further extend these capabilities across several categories and include:
- Enhanced patient engagement: Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare will soon offer an enhanced "patient view" within Dynamics 365 that will allows health care providers to associate one patient record with other patient records and easily navigate between them for faster access. There's also a new Waiting Room function coming in Microsoft Teams that is designed to help patients know they are "waiting to be seen" and finally, integration of Microsoft Forms with Microsoft Bookings should help with data collection and ingesting from a patient prior to virtually seeing their doctor.
- Increased health team collaboration: Microsoft Teams is getting an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Connector – which will allow "visits" to be launched from within EHR system patient or third-party provider portals. This then ties into the scheduled queue for virtual visits in Microsoft Bookings and will provide a dashboard-like view of the day and real-time appointment updates).
