New Brunswick pauses immigration programs due to high demand
Effective November 15, 2024, New Brunswick will no longer accept or process Employer Expressions of Interest (EOIs) under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) for the remainder of the year. This decision comes as the province has reached its total candidate allocation in 2024. Prospective candidates are advised to monitor the New Brunswick government website for updates regularly. Should an employer receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), they are still permitted to submit a complete Employer Designation application, and any previously submitted applications will continue to be assessed without interruption.
Furthermore, New Brunswick pauses the Exploratory Visit connection under the NB Strategic Initiative effective November 15, 2024. Consequently, no new ITAs will be issued until further notice. Candidates must remember that EOIs already submitted will remain valid for 365 days from their submission date. However, participation in an Exploratory Visit does not guarantee the issuance of an ITA.
Additionally, the issuance of new nomination certificates under the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot is also paused for the remainder of 2024, as the province has reached its full allocation for this category. Candidates who receive an ITA during this period are still encouraged to submit their full nomination application; however, they must be mindful of the ongoing eligibility requirements. Just to let you know, the 90-day eligibility window is still in effect. Therefore, candidates who surpass this 90-day window once nominations resume in January will not qualify for a provincial nomination under this pilot stream and are advised to explore alternative pathways for immigration.
Staying informed and proactive is vital for those considering immigration to New Brunswick. Monitoring updates and understanding the timelines and requirements can help navigate the application process effectively.
