New Brew October 2024
This newsletter is all about beer - if you don't like beer, it's probably not for you.
But if you like beer, want to learn more about it, or just want to read something a bit different to the usual stuff on LinkedIn, stick around.
Monthly Round-Up
We started our month with a trip to North’s Springwell for their Oktoberfest event before heading to Cape Verde for a lovely beach break and some Cape Verdean brews. We also battled five Chimay beers, revisited an official Oktoberfest beer?and tried our first green-hopped beer.?
New Brew Networking
This month I hosted my second New Brew Networking event and it was great, but I'd love to see some new faces at November's event on Thursday 21st from 6pm until 7pm (UK time).
The idea is simple - you sign up, buy yourself a beer you've never tried before, then log in for some friendly networking. We all introduce ourselves, our businesses and our brews then chat about whatever comes up.
Craft beer in Sal, Cape Verde
We spent our wedding anniversary relaxing in the beautiful Cape Verde. And, as we often do when we visit a new country, we went in search of some locally brewed craft beers. Fortunately, we found a lovely little craft beer bar and a range of Cape Verdean brews including a cream ale, a porter, a saison and some pale ales.
Oktoberfest at Springwell
We couldn't make it to the real Oktoberfest (although we will be heading to Munich later in the year), so we decided to head to Springwell for their Oktoberfest event. In between beers, we filled up on tasty food and enjoyed music from the live oompah band.
If you've never been to Springwell, it's definitely worth spending an afternoon or evening up there to sample some amazing North beers. There's a large outdoor seating area as well as seating inside, and the mezzanine is available for private hire if you fancy somewhere different for your next event.
Chimay session
One of this month's Thursday sessions involved these five beers from Chimay. You can read our notes and find out which we liked best on my Big Belgian Beer Battle blog .
What's on the menu for November?
As well as New Brew Networking on Thursday 21st at 6pm, there's plenty on the menu for November. Our fridge is overflowing (which it often is) and we haven't quite decided which of these amazing selections we're going to try next:
Don't forget to sign up to our new mailing list here - I'll be moving this newsletter to email only in the coming months so if you enjoy the updates, make sure you are on the list.

Beer, blogging and business
Beer has nothing to do with my business (not directly at least).
Craft beer is an interest I share with my husband - something we enjoy together - and our blog is purely a passion project (for now). I like beer. I like writing, so why not write about beer?
We're not paid to promote any of the beers, breweries or businesses featured in this newsletter or on our blog .
We would always encourage people to drink responsibly. UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adult men do not regularly exceed 3-4 units daily, and adult women do not regularly exceed 2-3 units daily. Drink responsibly www.drinkaware.co.uk
When we're drinking multiple new brews or new brews with high ABVs, we split the cans or bottles between us - otherwise, I'd get very little work done on a Friday.
And talking of work, here's a little reminder of what I do.
I provide copywriting training for individuals and teams and business mentoring for freelancers and small business owners.
Feel free to message me if you need help attracting and converting more of the clients you want, or if you'd like to send me free beer ??.

2 周Great idea but I don't drink. I can just bring zero beers or does that defeat the object? ?? (I've never actually tried zero beers before)
