1. Prestige Awards 2024
Our experience at the Prestige Awards 2025 was another remarkable milestone for our team, marked by the incredible honor of being named Psychological Therapy Specialist of the Year in 2024 and 2022!
It was wonderful to celebrate with colleagues, family and a loyal and trusting client who was willing to give a live testimonial at the award, for our revised promotional video. (Look out for the re-launch in the coming weeks!).
It was amazing to meet my Associate, Dr Jo Weekes, Senior Clinical Psychologist; and Cassy Revaj, our wonderful administrator, for the first time in real life, too!
We are a multi-award winning team because of the incredible work my team does with our clients. I’m constantly blown away by the feedback we receive.
It really is a reflection of the excellent services provided, the high level at which they are all trained, and the innovative and committed way they work. I am eternally grateful for them.
The recognition we received not only highlights the impact we have made in the industry, but also brings a profound sense of pride and accomplishment to our practice. A thousand thank yous!

2. Breaking Through Therapy Podcast
After a year of planning, we are finally ready to launch our podcast: “Breaking Through Therapy”.?
The client brings their therapist on the show at least one year post therapy to discuss how they found each other, the therapeutic relationship, and breakthroughs in therapy.?
If you’d like to see how this translates in real life, watch an amazing Netflix?documentary my client recommended with this concept in mind called “Stutz”.?
I’m inviting you all to showcase your work if you can think of clients, who would enjoy the process, to invite. They would need to have completed therapy with you at least one year ago. Alternatively, perhaps you had therapy that was transformational in your life, and you’d like to come on the show anonymously to talk about it, and raise money for NHS Charities Together.
The clients will remain anonymous and their cameras will be off. However, therapists will be able to market their work.?
We’d like to raise at least £10,000 a year for NHS Charities Together. I know this is a drop in the ocean but the NHS means the world to me - our health is our main source wealth - and every little helps.?
Here is an example of the types of NHS charity work we’ll be raising money for. There are over 4,000 projects the run currently.?We also have sponsorship from Rooms for Therapists and I’m approaching other sponsors!

3. NHS Charities Together
I recently received an email from the NHS highlighting the urgent need to support NHS staff. A survey of over 1,000 NHS employees revealed that 76% experienced mental health issues last year, 52% faced anxiety, 51% struggled with low mood, and 42% reported exhaustion. Additionally, 60% are worried about their colleagues' mental health.
Your donations help fund crucial services like counseling and wellbeing zones. Please consider donating to strengthen the NHS and ensure better healthcare for all.
PS.?The NHS is needed now more than ever before. And that means everyone in it needs our care and support like never before too.?

6. Burnout Book by Dr. Claire Plumbly
My friend & colleague, Dr. Claire Plumbly has written a really informative and unique resource on burnout! Great for clients and therapists alike!
The three sub-types of burnout was something I didn’t know but felt on a nervous system level - it’s great to finally put words to what I intuited:-
1. Frenetic / over-burdened burnout - this is when we have too much to do and not enough time or resources. I think this is the type of burnout many people have in mind when they use the word. Research shows that high-achievers and people new in their careers are particularly susceptible but anyone in an under-resourced service will know all about this subtype.
2. Understimulated burnout- this is when your work isn’t giving you enough diversity or challenge, when there's too much repetition of the same tasks. More common in more experienced staff where they are through the early ‘learning curve’ part of the work. Sometimes referred to as Boreout.?
3. Neglect / Worn out burnout - this is when your work is misaligned from your values and you lose your sense of meaning at work. Eg. If your being asked to hit a certain number of sales targets so trying to get people who don’t need your product to buy. I’ve also seen this referred to as Brownout.
Dr Claire knows we can experience all three at once too!

7. Artificial Intelligence as Co-Therapists
A Discussion on Ethics of using ChatGPT and other articles on Artificial Intelligence
I have been trialling an AI Co-Therapist app and I was shocked that it was actually very good.?
However, there are huge ethical caveats. I recently came across an article about the tragic consequences of AI in mental health care. A Belgian man, referred to as “Pierre”, took his own life after developing a harmful relationship with an AI chatbot.?
This case raises serious ethical concerns about using AI tools like ChatGPT in therapy. While AI has the potential to support mental health professionals, it's crucial to address the risks and ensure that these technologies are used responsibly.?
The ethical implications of AI in therapy deserve thorough discussion and regulation to prevent such incidents.
