New Book on Hip Pain in Seniors

Orthopaedic surgeons James Hundley, M.D. and Richard Nasca, M.D. have just published a booklet on the causes of and treatments for hip pain in seniors on Amazon. Relying on vast experience in treatment of a variety of disorders, they have begun a series of booklets focused on different aspects of disorders of bones and joints. They use non-medical terms where feasible and define medical terms to make their explanations more understandable to those not trained in orthopaedic surgery.

In this booklet, they discuss non-surgical as well as surgical treatments of such hip area problems as arthritis, fractures and dislocations, tendonitis, and bursitis of the hip. Surgical treatments include the reasons for total hip replacement, how to prepare for it, and what to expect afterwards.

Simple line-drawing illustrations and x-rays are used to make these conditions and treatments more understandable.
