New beginnings ( or a fresh re-start)

Today is the first working day of my second term at SPJIMR. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the faculty, staff, students and alumni of SPJIMR. I have received tremendous affection, acceptance and support from the extended SPJIMR family and I am truly grateful.

I would also like to thank our extended network of visiting faculty, corporate partners and social sector partners who believe in, and support our efforts persistently and passionately.

Special thanks go out to our parent, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and the august members of our Governing Council. Their support and advice has proved invaluable on this journey.

Many personal friends and mentors have helped and guided me on this journey. I will continue to reach out to you as we attempt to build on a strong foundation.

A special debt of gratitude goes to my predecessor,the late Dr M L Shrikant. The value based foundation of the institution was conceived and put into place by him. If we are able to see a little further today, it is because we are standing on the shoulders of a giant.

My loudest thank you goes out to the current and past students of SPJIMR. Every time I walk into a class, give a speech, attend a meeting, get into a one on one conversation, the warmth , support and energy I get from our students has lifted me. You are, in many ways, my greatest teachers.

There is much left to do and build upon. It is a privilege to lead and serve SPJIMR, and I look forward to working together with our extended community to take the institute further.
