New beginnings in the Big Smoke, my first two weeks as a PR and Influencer Account Executive

After an amazing seven-month adventure travelling through Southeast Asia and Australia, I’ve officially landed back in the UK and taken the leap - moving to London! Having lived up north my entire life, the decision to relocate to the capital was both exciting and daunting. But I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the Inkling Culture team as their new PR and Influencer Account Executive, and what a whirlwind these first two weeks have been!

With a background in digital PR, I was eager to expand my expertise into more traditional PR while also diving into the world of influencer marketing. It’s been an exciting start, jumping straight into agency life – getting fully immersed into new clients, doing lots of sell-ins, and I’m proud to say I have secured my first bits of coverage!

I was drawn to PR because I love the idea of building relationships with people, whether it’s with journalists, clients or colleagues. The fast-paced, ever-changing nature of PR keeps things exciting, each day brings new challenges and opportunities, making every day different. I’m looking forward to developing these relationships further and seeing what exciting campaigns I’ll be working on here at Inkling.

The team have been incredibly welcoming, and their support has made my first few weeks in the capital feel that little bit easier. Adjusting to London life has come with its challenges though, the biggest being the maze that is the tube and bus routes! Thankfully, Citymapper has become my new best friend.

As I continue to find my feet in this new role, I’m excited for what’s to come. There’s so much to learn, and I am looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me.
