New Beginnings Ahead - Plan for Success

As the end of the year approaches, firms and individuals are starting (or doing) the planning process for next year.? During the weeks ahead, it’s time to review what went well and maybe things that didn’t pan out the way you might have hoped for.

Don’t be afraid to look critically at your past 12 months and look confidently toward the next 12.? The best thing about the year-end is that there is always a new beginning ahead for you.

1.????? Review your current business development plan.

• What did you achieve and why?
• What didn’t you achieve and why?
• About “why” – figure out how you could have changed things to be more successful (if that was even possible)

2.?????What Goals do you have for 2024? ?

• Make sure you have ones that you don’t have to stretch yourself too far to accomplish. But also have goals that are aspirational and stretch you.
• Carefully assess the potential risks and rewards of any of these goals and be prepared to pivot if things don't go as planned.
• Set S.M.A.R.T (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-related) goals that will help you to measure and track your progress.?

3.????? Nurture and Build the relationships that matter to you. Take care of your current clients. Build your network.?

4.????? Seek Feedback at the end of the year from your clients and peers. Feedback helps you adjust your thinking and gives you fresh ideas. Be flexible and adapt.

5.????? Don’t Say “I Can’t”.?? Work on yourself – learn new tools to assist you in being a better performer and a better you. Build your brand as well – don’t leave it to chance.

Not everyone has a good year. Learn from it.? If you had a good year, take what you learned and build upon it for the future.? With the changing year comes new life and new beginnings.? Plan for success.
