A new beginning and a farewell to an old friend
I have certain kinds of activity broadcasts turned off on my profile. One is the new position announcement. I am fortunate that my network is quite engaged. This can lead to an avalanche of well wishes, and it can be difficult to dig out from the flood, despite the good intentions behind it.
At the beginning of December, I began a new chapter in my corporate recruiting career (see profile). I work with some astoundingly accomplished and fun talent acquisition professionals in a neat organization. It's been a terrific journey so far and I'm fortunate to call these folks my colleagues. It's been a great new beginning!
However, as someone operating in a regulated industry, I need to be selective about my online activity. And unfortunately, that means I need to suspend what's been, for the better part of a decade, what people I've never met most strongly associate with my brand.
My #LinkedIn #tip for the day.
This ends a tradition that's...gosh, at least eight years old, if not more. It began out of a desire to share knowledge. And in this time, I've met some great people--often specifically because of it! It's kinda been my networking wingman for close to a decade.
So now, after a decade-ish of these 2000+ daily observations and tips, it's time to say a fond farewell to my buddy.
At least here.
For those who will miss it, you're looking in the wrong place. I've been posting it elsewhere for just as long as it's been here on LinkedIn. In fact, due to the #LinkedIn and #tip4day hashtags, one might credibly argue it's more at home there, given LinkedIn's subsequent adoption of hashtags.
I'll miss posting them here on LinkedIn of course, and I'd be lying if I said differently. But all good things must come to an end.
And now it's time for a different and new good thing.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope you're having an outstanding day!
