Android marshmallow was presented in google I/o conference 2015 and it strikes the ground promising to have edge over its predecessor, that is, Android lollipop. Not just in air, but Android M( as popularized before presenting) surely seems to gather the platform with its advancement and keep pacing with the race of android to be better with its each new version. These features will definitely tempt you to take a bite of it.
Better battery life with a functionality named 'Doze'
Android lollipop took a leap in battery saving and laid the foundation. Android marshmallow took it to a step further with its new functionality Doze. It now has the capability to sense the motion of the handset to detect if it is not in use for long. On detection its takes the handset in deeper standby state and shut the still working apps, thus, offering a significantly better battery life.
Comes with long awaited Android pay
Secure mobile payments through android has always been in talks, but, now the time has come to relay the virtuals. Alike, any payment channel the card details are entered in but the smart Android pay encrypts the real data and generate a virtual number for each payment, making it more secure. Android Pay app can be used as a credit card locker and does not need any app to be opened for it to work: simply touch and pay. Ultimately Android pay will be available with both Lollipop and kitkat but it will debut in Android M.
Embedded Fingerprint sensors
This seems to be a saviour solution for the manufacturers as well the users. The handset manufacturers had to implement software solution in the system to enable fingerprint sensors. Now it has been well taken care of by the OS Android M with embedded fingerprint sensors. It can be long wished that new mobile payment process featured with embedded fingerprint sensor be more than capable of taking on Apple Pay.
Revised App permissions
Now, there is a integrated way of managing App permissions. With the Lollipop version, you had to allow app app permissions before downloading from the play store . It has been looked upon in Android marshmallow, here its no longer the case. In fact, with Android M you can confirm app permissions individually along with an additional setting to revoke individual app permission again.
Hardware installation of USB type C
With the changing faces of technical plethora the USB type C hardware installation is hugely expected to form a part of a pack of new smartphones and tablets. With USB port of type C the the connectors can be fit inside in either direction, that is, it flips both ways and can be further used to charge other devices.
Advance Ram manager and App drawer
Android marshmallows provides the insight of average and maximum Ram usage of an app along with the amount of Ram used by each app. That distinguishes the ram managing of Lollipop and marshmallow. Android Lollipop only detailed the amount of Ram used. At the same Android marshmallow app drawer makes it easy to find the apps with the alphabetized app on the left hand margin. Also, a search function in top right corner and a bar containing recently used four apps implemented.
There might not be very significant differences between Android lollipop and Android Marshmallow but as always Google is all set to have edge over its own predecessors and raise a wave of improvement and capture market. Though the differences seen in android KITKAT and android LOLLIPOP were remarkable and so is not true here, but still, Its better in its own way .
