New Additions to Orlando's Tourism Sector

New Additions to Orlando's Tourism Sector

In this new edition of CRE Unwrapped, I am excited to delve into the dynamic shifts within Orlando's tourism sector. A prominent highlight is the new major development of the expansion of one of Orlando’s renowned theme parks, Universal’s Epic Universe.

Originally unveiled in 2019, the progress of Universal’s Epic Universe underwent a halt in July 2020 due to the pandemic's impact. Tom Williams, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Parks & Resorts, articulated the project's significance: "It will build on everything we have done and become the most immersive and innovative theme park we have ever created. It is an investment in our business, our industry, our team members, and our community.”

The highly anticipated launch of Universal’s Epic Universe is slated for 2025 and is predicted to elevate Orlando's tourism landscape to new heights. Distinguished by its multifaceted approach, this new attraction transcends traditional boundaries, offering an unparalleled theme park experience, hotels, and a variety of shops. Concurrently, the tourism horizon witnesses another compelling evolution: Disney’s Epcot theme park enhancements. Among the enthralling additions, a new ride inspired by "Moana" and an enchanting new nighttime show consisting of new fireworks, lights, etc., will be coming soon.?

These new additions to the tourism sector will positively impact the Orlando area. These will provide new jobs and opportunities for businesses and bring more visitation to the area. Please share your thoughts on the effects of these additions and your predictions for what is next for the tourism industry here in Orlando.?

It will be interesting to see the progression after 2025. You have to imagine that the competition will continue.
