A company has purchased a 368-acre site in Coweta County that was slated for a massive battery plant. But the identity of the buyer is concealed within property records, and a government watchdog is raising questions about whether there should be more transparency around state-backed economic development projects.
In February, Freyr Battery said?it was nixing its plan for a $2.6 billion battery factory?south of Newnan, which would have created about 700 jobs. Freyr was promised?$358 million in economic incentives for the plant. It was one of the state's largest clean energy projects?when announced in 2022.

Georgia lawmakers might ban all beverages containing THC, an unexpected move that could disrupt a segment of the state’s hemp industry.
On Thursday, State Senate Majority Whip Randy Robertson (R-Cataula) proposed inserting language into Senate Bill 254 to ban the sale of THC-infused drinks. The last-minute amendment narrowly passed in a 29-27 vote, followed by a 42-14 vote on the underlying bill.
SB 254 seeks stricter limits on the amount of THC that can be contained in consumable hemp products sold and distributed in Georgia.

The real estate firm that has pioneered post-Great Recession condo development in Atlanta?is plotting its next venture in the city. And it's making plans to expand outside of Buckhead for the first time.
Ed Jahn, senior vice president of Florida-based luxury real estate firm Kolter Urban, said that for its next project the company is considering Midtown, a neighborhood teeming with rich culture, vibrant nightlife and economic vitality.

Delta Air Lines?is expanding a meal option to satiate hungry travelers with a midflight hankering for fast food.
Beginning Tuesday, Delta is serving?Shake Shack?cheeseburgers to first-class customers on flights over 900 miles that depart from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, New York City's LaGuardia Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The Atlanta-based airline?launched the Shake Shake partnership?in December, initially offering the burgers exclusively to first-class customers on flights departing out of Boston Logan International Airport. Since then, Delta has served more than 10,000 burgers on its flights, said Stephanie Laster, managing director of onboard service, in a prepared statement.
