Never Settle for Less Than Your Best

I was born in a small town called Goba, a district in the Bale Zone of Oromia region, Ethiopia. It’s approximately 446 km southeast of Addis Ababa (capital). Since the district is one of the tourist destinations in the country, I have had the chance to meet with different people and experience the opportunities in hotel and tourism industry.

Being raised by a single mom, I have learned from her the commitment and perseverance to keep on trying no matter the challenge and succeeded in my junior and high school education. After completing high school, I was selected along with a few other students to join the National Hotel and Tourism Institute in Addis Ababa and pursue my higher education.

At a young age, circumstances lead me to shoulder family responsibilities. For this reason, I have taken the opportunity to work for Khimji Ramadas where my Pizza Hut journey started as a Team member and achievements to be selected as a Trainee shift manager. During my stay at Pizza Hut Oman, I have learned to work hard and build my professional career with a company that keeps rewarding me for my achievements.

Two years of hard work and ample experience in the industry overseas helped me to come back to my country and join Pizza Hut Ethiopia. Aside from my professional career, I’ve gotten married and was also blessed with two beautiful daughters.

At Belayab Foods, in the last four and half years, we have opened six pizza restaurants in Addis and served as starting shift manager, ARM, RGM and now Area Manager.

I have wonderful communication skills and I’m positive about teamwork. Usually, I find myself providing solutions to challenges we face in the operations. The company also recognizes me as the first all-female operating pizza hut branch RGM in the world.

The hard work and experience helped me to get the responsibility of my current position of area coaching. My journey in my work environment and life has led me to aim for better positions. And I always encourage and help team members to focus and never settle for less than their best!
