Never mistake activity with accomplishment…

How often do you confuse activity with accomplishment?
It is so easy to be busy.?We can spend weeks at a time being busy, busy, busy.?
Earlier in my career as a financial professional, I got so deep in busy-ness that I literally lost years of time. That’s the word year with an “s” on the end of it. I was in research mode, learning everything I could about this business but not actually being productive.
When I got my back against the wall financially, I had no choice but to get my act together and to stop fooling around.
It was a huge lesson for me.
I learned that activity is important, but if you want to achieve high levels of productivity, it has to be the right client acquisition activity with the right prospective clients at the right pace that you can handle.
There are a lot of “rights” in there, but that’s what it takes to get the wheels on the bus and actually get somewhere you want to go.
Stop just being busy.
Put one foot in front of the other, but do that in the direction of your dreams.
