Never mind the solution - Who is to blame ?.........

TRCRC was launched as a local Enterprise 10 years ago, in the profound belief that improvements could be made, and particularly within the area of  workplace 'age inclusivity'.

Due largely to a brilliantly constructed and managed website, and to our joining the Linkedin Community just a couple of years later, all allied to the power and reach of modern communication, TRCRC has truly become an International 'tour de force', receiving well over 20,000 'new visits' from all over the Globe, every year. Visits = Exchanges of opinion.

Our entering the seemingly prescribed world of recruitment, was done in all modesty fuelled by a 'retiree desire' to achieve something useful for a small sector of the unemployed.

The irony is, that not until TRCRC became aware via the numerous and frquently bitter experiences, submitted daily by the candidate community to this very medium, did we have any idea of just how wide spread and objectionable the oft reported degeneration had come to be.

Ultimate Responsibility for the degree of delusional arrogance shown by many in this patently appalling, general 'recruitment business', surely resides within Boardrooms across the Globe... ?

........... If not........................ WHY ?

NB - Submitted by a reasonably successful Businessman of some 50+ years experience - NOT in anger - but with a wholly sincere wish to see, (whilst still upright !), radical change towards a World of Business whereby Trust, Courtesy, Access, Professionalism, Respect and Dignity all play an essential part.

We could all do it if we really wanted to.....................

Thanks for the reply Brian. I was using the term "management" as a description of attitude, not of hierarchy. I was using it to differentiate that group from "leaders", who bring all their teams, whatever age, with them to advance their businesses, to shared success. There are lots of organisations out there doing this ... but there are also lots who follow HMT's short-termism and that doesn't work for any worker at any rank and any age whose face doesn't fit.

There is no "age" problem. There is only the problem of what younger people believe is wrong with age ... until they get there and by then it is way, way too late! I coach older workers through change and they/we have SO much to offer companies and organisations. How come business managers don't understand the investment that they lose with every retiree? It isn't the broadest of commercial viewpoints. That's where coaching can offer a lot ...
