Never hate anyone in your life no matter how badly they've treated you!!!
Sometimes, the harm they inflict onto you can turn out to be nothing but a blessing.
?This article is dedicated to one particular individual, an individual who’s arrogant, self-centered, and nothing but a jerk. let’s just refer to him as Mr. A.?But you know what??I am so thankful to have experienced such a character in my career as it has been nothing but a blessing to me.
?You see, Mr. A. owns a training company in the region and he used to hire me, as a freelancer, to deliver some training assignments within my field every now and then. ?And I can proudly say, that almost every training I delivered for him came out with outstanding course evaluations.?
?Well, except for one particular training course, the evaluations did not turn out to his liking…fortunately. Yup, I now say, fortunately, and not, unfortunately, since the outcome of such bad evaluations determined his next move, and the action he took against me turned out to be a very “stupid” move that simply backfired on him later on.?
?Instead of hearing me out and listening to my version of the story, he decided to cancel all my assigned future training courses and officially end the business relationship we had together.
?Oh well.?Shit happens no matter what, and that was one case with repercussions I just had to deal with and just forget about.?Yes, I was upset, I was angry and I was hurt by the way he treated me after having done a superb job with all my previous freelance assignments.?But again, life moves on, and I just had to put such an ordeal behind me.
?However, always remember that when you love what you do and you do what you love, things will always end up turning out to your advantage.
?A few months go by and I get a WhatsApp message from one delegate who had previously attended one of my training courses (through Mr. A’s company) about a year or so prior.?
?OK…. Let me pause my story here for now and briefly share with you the connecting dots between that WhatsApp message and one very particular training assignment that had taken place a year prior to my latest incident with Mr. A.
?About a year earlier, Mr. A hired me to deliver a 5-day training course to a major client in KSA.?That training course turned out to be one of the best training courses I had ever delivered and I scored impressive evaluations with flying colors.?
?After the training was completed, the guys and gals who had just attended my training course came up with a WhatsApp group to keep in touch with each other and to share articles about the various topics covered during the training.?
A year or so goes by and one of the delegates takes the liberty to WhatsApp me to discuss a potential project coming up in the foreseeing future.?Of course, she shared my name with management and highly recommended me to lead that project.?
?However, in order to manage all expectations, I made sure to let her know, from the very start, that I was no longer affiliated with the same company (that of Mr. A’s) that had previously hired me when she took my training course back then.?I could feel though, that her company couldn’t care less whether I am still working with Mr. A or not.?All they cared about is that I, Samir, would conduct the training.?

?Long story short, that new project eventually took off, and both Lama, my dear wife and business partner, and I got hired to lead that 6-month project…and of course, it was proudly contracted through our own company, J&R Business Consultancy.
?Just imagine though, had I not been let go by Mr. A a year earlier after that one training incident that was not to his liking, I would have had to go through his company, as a freelancer, to carry out that project.?But, since Mr. A. decided to end the business relationship we had together and since I am no longer bound to go through him at all, it was surely the best opportunity for me in my 16 years’ presence in the region.?This only proves that when you do a good job, clients will remember you and will go after you no matter what. ?
?So, that new client approaches me, signs a contract with me, under my own company J&R Business Consultancy, of course, and carries out the project with both Lama and me…yeyyyy! ?
?That project turned out indeed to be one of the best projects we’ve ever worked on.?In fact, although Lama and I have been in this part of the world for over 16 years now, and although we have had memorable training assignments take place with lots and lots of companies within 36 different industries over the years, so far, nothing beats such an experience that we both had together with that project. It was just one of the most amazing projects both Lama and I have ever worked on!
?Again, and I say again, as I already mentioned at the start of my article, never hate anyone in your life no matter how badly they've treated you!!! Sometimes, the harm they inflict onto you can turn out to be nothing but a blessing.
?So, to you, Mr. A, I wholeheartedly owe you a big thank you.
I wholeheartedly thank you for being such a short-sighted person.
I wholeheartedly thank you for treating me the way you did.
I wholeheartedly thank you for terminating my business relationship with you as a freelancer, and I just wholeheartedly thank you for doing what you did. Because of such an idiotic decision on your part, you did me the biggest favor ever!!! You just made that major client you once had, approach me in person, sign a contract with me through my own company and open up one opportunity after another for both Lama and me!!!
?And for that, I wholeheartedly thank you again and again and again.
For everyone out there who's reading my article, always remember that people who love what they do and do what they love, people who genuinely work from the heart and always want to give their best, people who go out of their way to not only do things right, but more importantly who always strive to do the right thing, and people who wholeheartedly believe in their mission and live to leave an impact and make a difference on others...those people would never ever have to worry about future prospects, and will never run after jobs. Instead, jobs will always run after them.?

1 年Good article Samir. Important that we do not hate anyone, more important to fill our hearts with love only. That should happen not because that might bring us material, but because we are humans and we are all the son's of God. Very correct as well in your article about livjng what we do. Happy new year to you and your beloved dear. You are always so positive and inspiring and that is because you are full of love. God bless you
