"Never Never Give Up!" Vs "Give it Up!"

Have you trying to improve something in yourself for years but still haven’t made much progress? If yes, this story is for you.

I am Sanjay Kumar, I did MCA in 2004, and I started an IT company in 2009. One of my primary role in the company was to manage projects. I wasn’t good at managing projects (I am not claiming that I am good at managing project today :) )

As soon as there was any difficulty in the project, I handed it over to my partner. He was then managing that project (and others that were assigned to him already). Around 50% of my projects were going to my partner.

I was trying everything that I could, taking help from my partner, researching best practices to manage the projects, writing down my mistakes to ensure that those mistakes don’t happen again. But all was in vain.

It was going on for many years, and it was very frustrating for me.

One day, I was traveling in Delhi Metro from Uttam Nagar to Roujri Garden. I thought that there are two types of people - who are good at managing things and the second ones are like me.

I said to myself, it’s okay to be on the second side. I am not a good project manager, and it’s okay not to be a good project manager. I accepted my situation as it was.

I was at peace with the way I was managing the project, there was no guilt in this area for the first time, and I stopped trying and planning to be a better manager.

And the results, I have never handed over any project to my partner after that day.

You must have heard/seen many times – “Never Give Up!”, My advice is to take Never out of the picture. “Give it Up!” if you have tried it multiple times. It might not be for you, and if it’s for you, you’ll get it after you “Give it Up!”

I think same case is for everyone. Totally agree, try honestly and give your best what you want to do, still things are not clicking in your way, then give it up. Might be there is something much better than for you is already waiting for you
