Never Give Up, Never Surrender

It was late in the afternoon. My nerves were on edge.?

It was my first official client call as a “Full-Time Copywriter.”

We chatted back and forth for a little while.?

The poor gum I was chewing didn’t deserve that level of punishment.

Finally, we got down to business.

?“Reggie, I want you to write 8 emails for me.”

My heart was beating like a rabbit being stared down by a wolf in mid-winter.

“Can you do it?”?he asked in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

“Yes!” as I let out a little peep… <Cough, Cough> “Yes…” with extra authoritah in my voice.?

What he paid was preposterous. He gave me a shot knowing I was newer to writing.?

I wasn’t mad though. I was ecstatic!

My wife watched me do some old-school breakdancing after getting off the call.?

?This was just a little over a year ago.?

Now in my past, I’ve worked as a financial advisor, rolled tons of annuities, and raised gobs of money for charity.

Why would I be so happy to get less than $500.00?

Because I proved to myself that I could do it.?

?I needed to have some wins before I could get out of the kiddy pool and start heading into deeper water. Always learning and getting better as I test for new wins.

My mind went wild with the limitless opportunities that lay before me.?

?I tried four years ago and worked off and on doing some writing but never with my whole heart.?

I’ve now worked with multiple clients and am grateful for the clients that I consciously work with.

This has been the hardest, most fun stress that I’ve had in my entire life.??

But since I love it… It’s really no stress at all.?

I’m consistently working with new clients and am excited to partner with great people to deliver results.?

This next year I’ll be adding more services and start scaling the mountain some more.??

So why did? I write this?

This is for anyone that’s getting started. No matter the HELL and crazy that comes your way in the beginning…

I had to write this after I watched someone ask for help in a Facebook group.

This poor woman was gutted by someone that is only kind when they have a new product to sell or as long as you're giving them money.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. And more importantly, find a good mentor for whatever you endeavour.
