Never Give Up!!!
During my childhood my favorite hobby was playing and collecting model trains.
Sometimes one of my relatives had to leaving with the train, I always was fascinated by those steel giants.
But growing up things change...
When I got my first job in microelectronics field I was happy because it was the job that best suited my schooling but I felt something was missing.
At the beginning I thought that by now the destiny was marked, I would have worked for that company for decades, maybe until my retirement.
That wouldn't have been such a bad thing, but something was missing ...
One day on the internet I saw a job posting concerning an electronics technician with experience about maintenance of rolling stock.
It was perfect if it had not been for the damned requirement "experienced" !!!
But anyway I decided to send my CV anyway, I thought what could happen... in the worst case they do not contact me.
Part of the CV is also the cover letter where it is possible to present yourself and explain why it might be convenient for the company to hire you.
I explained even if I had no experience in the railways I had an electronics background to learn fast and also I was available to travel to follow their projects.
Instead they contacted me and scheduled an interview the next week.
It was time to take this opportunity and to get ready for an job interview.
The first thing I did was to study the job description (duties, responsibilities, required qualifications) and what the company was doing and where in that moment.
I certainly couldn't create the experience but perhaps taking advantage of the hugeness of information that the internet proposed concerning the railway and imagining what the interviewer could want from a good technician then I prepared myself.
In the interview I showed the greatest interest in that role and that if the company had invested in me I would have reciprocated with commitment, passion and flexibility.
The Interviewer, who would later become my future boss, has accepted to risk taking on a person with no experience but motivated rather than a person with experience but little willing to get involved in a new projects starting from zero.
At that time I would never have imagined that one day I would become a maintenance technician with the great opportunity to work with prestigious rotatable equipped with latest-generation technology designed by the leading companies in the sector.
This job offers the unique opportunity of travel around the world and so meeting many fantastic people.
Problems and the unexpected were there but I faced them day by day.
If I had stopped by the fear instead of daring into a field that I did not know, today I would not have been here doing what I like most.
I believe that young people must have the courage to risk more because later it's not easy to do that.
The shamelessness if used in wrong way is a bad thing but if used correctly to get what you want, that is is called also courage.
Don't be like the guys sitting in the movie watching the train, get up and go !!!
