Never Give up.

I read a really inspring story last week from a friend of mine in Bangkok. This is about never giving up. I hope Les doesnt mind me sharing his story;

"Contract Signed / Business Development Mgr 

At the end of June 2020 due to the Covid situation, I was made redundant from a job and company I loved working for. I have now been out of work since June 2020, and to say it was getting to the end of my stay/living in Thailand and going home to the UK, would be an huge understatement.  

I have never been under so much stress, under so much pressure and uncertainty for my future as the last 9 months, sometimes it felt like the walls were closing in around me.  

After quite a few months of discussions and procedures. Following interviews with the Sales Director (Thailand), HR Director (Thailand), CEO (Thailand) and Regional Managing Director (Singapore/SEA).  

Prepare and submit a 14 page presentation on the Health Industry in Thailand, and how to increase turnover and develop the business for an industry that I have no previous experience in.

Go through National and International criminal, professional, educational and medical background checks.  

Today I have finally signed a contract of employment for the position of Business Development Manager with Aetna Thailand.  

The start date is yet to be confirmed depending on any issues with visa and work permit, which I can’t see there being any, but this is Thailand so you never know.  

This is the longest period I have ever been out of work, so what have I learnt in the last 9 months. Due to Covid, I have over 300 job applications, lost employment opportunities in Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia due to the Covid travel restrictions. I have learnt to never give up, have complete and total faith in your professional background, experience, abilities and skill set, when others around you don’t or can’t see and eventually you will win, come out on top and succeed.  

I’m now looking forward to start working life again and developing my new career path."
