"Never give up, just keep moving forward"

#1 You have been a CMGer for over four years now, working as a web developer. What do you most appreciate about your work in general or at CMG?

Being challenged drives me through this journey and is what I appreciate the most. As a Web developer, there is never an end to the learning journey; that is the most beautiful thing about this job. We are all human beings driven by excitement and challenges through life - it would be boring otherwise ??

#2 In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge of being a woman in a male-dominated industry?

I do not see this job as gender-specific, and nobody should have this imaginary boundary in their mind. Web development requires time, focus, and consistency. It is challenging for each of us, regardless of whether you are male or female, someone can learn faster, and somebody has a slower learning curve, but after all - if you have the will, desire, and love for this kind of job, your success is not questionable.

#3 Have you ever felt that being a woman sometimes “gets in your way” of gaining knowledge, sharing experiences, or developing your career?

Never. In this kind of industry, the people I get to know, meet, and talk to are all open-minded and will not make such gender differences unless we make such a difference in our minds which can result in insecurity. It is important never to let something like that stand in our way or shake our confidence. In the end, knowledge, productivity, and experience are valued regardless of whether you are male or female.

#4 Do you have any particular hobbies?

I have a lot of hobbies, most extreme sports like highlining, climbing, aerial silk, flow arts with fire, and snowboarding, but all of these are where I find inspiration and challenge. As I mentioned earlier, we are all different, so it is important to find what drives us forward, excites us, and defines us as a person.

#5 Do you have any messages for young women wanting to become web developers??

The message for anybody moving in this direction would be: Never give up, just keep moving forward no matter how fast or slow. It will not be easy, but that's okay because ?easy“ is not why we do this job. Give yourself time, do not overestimate yourself or especially underestimate yourself. Know your worth and most importantly, admit when you are wrong or when you need help?
