Never Give up on a Call
Johnny Walker
My time being a blue-collar family member and worker has taught me to work with less and expect more. I will always strive for excellence and encourage everyone’s inner greatness.
Many times, field employees may be underestimated. Corporate constantly wants help, but many times, they forget or are unwilling to give somebody in the field a chance. You would think it would behoove an employer to put an employee in a role where ground experience is essential. However, this is not always the case; cost and convenience play a role in the hiring process. Now, where does that leave you? If your management, you may be reading this Labor Recipes and think, "Is my hiring in promotion process as effective as it could be?" Or if you're a craft employee, you may be asking, "Should I even bother?" Both are legitimate questions that need to be answered by you. However, you should never give up because the cards are stacked against you.
If you have an opportunity and it's a hard road, It would be best never to give up. It would be best because others may benefit from your tenacity and may never get an opportunity because they do not know how to go about it. If the call is important enough, you should keep trying to get in. There may be many obstacles opening that door or even just getting there, but it will be worth it in the end. However, you may never find this out because you give up or never even try. It's your prerogative to do these things, but constantly be reminded that if someone didn't have the same gumption that you're attempting to have, you may not be trying to break down that door as we speak.
Well, that's my spiel for today…
