Never forget

I was not living in the U.S. at the time, but I vividly remember the events that occured 18 years ago on September 11, 2001. It just so happened to be my first day at O2, the British wireless carrier - and my very first day in the telecommunications industry.
The tragic events of that day rocked everyone around the world, including me. And yet, in the face of that massive tragedy, humanity rallied - including our own V Team, who came from all over, and, in less than a week, had the stock market up and running again. It was truly a testament to the people we have and the values we live by.
That day and the response that followed redefined our work and what networks mean to me. Real connections are about so much more than the wire and steel that facilitate them - they’re about people helping people to move forward - no matter the challenge ahead.
So today, 18 years later, we remember those lost on that day - while also remembering the powerful moment where the world ran “to a crisis, not away.”
For that reason, I will never forget.
