Never forget...
This year marks the 9th anniversary of Boston Marathon Bombings.
15th April 2013,?is a day that will stay imprinted on our minds forever.?What started as peaceful spring day, with runners and spectators enjoying the annual Boston Marathon; dramatically changed to chaos and confusion as two bombs exploded near the finish line.?
It was horrific. Three people lost their lives and 280 were injured.?Spectators, event officials and emergency services all worked tirelessly to?save lives and limbs. Among the spectators of the marathon were two engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). They saw first-hand, the carnage and challenges faced when trying to help stop the bleed.?From this experience they observed a need for an easy-to-use tourniquet that’s ‘Intuitive, Strong & Lifesaving.’
Aero's innovative technology
The engineers approached Aero Healthcare, who are known worldwide for their life-saving medical products. Rising to the challenge, the Aero product development team used their experience with the Military, Police and Fire Services throughout the UK to develop the tourniquet further, ensuring our innovation was truly?‘Intuitive, Strong & Lifesaving’
The RapidStop? Tourniquet is specifically designed to work fast and can be?applied in three quick steps.?Simple directions are stitched to the product using waterproof vinyl tags, in addition to being supplied on pocket cards and in video format.?And most importantly the application is fast especially in instances, where severely injured individuals may only have 60 seconds before they become unconscious.
“15th April 2013 changed people’s lives. We have learnt, and it has been a privilege for Aero Healthcare to help enhance the future for others too.?Our passion is to design, manufacture and?supply medical devices that work; to ensure medical teams and individuals can be response ready at all times” Matthew Gilmore, RapidStop??AMEA
We are improving patient outcomes, reducing preventable deaths and are proud that our RapidStop? Tourniquets are already saving people’s lives.?
