We can all learn something from Arnold Schwarzenegger…..we all got to hustle

Never Audition. Create your role…. Make it. Do not apply for a job. Create Your Role / Invent it / Own it.

Ever aspiring entrepreneur, leader, executive, or anyone trying to get their next big opportunity has something to learn from Arnold Schwarzenegger:

(Side note Kudos and thanks to Tim Ferriss in Tools of Titans and his interview with Arnold providing first hand insight)

Most of us know Arnold was Mr. Universe, famous actor, and governor. But few of us knew about his middle phase. During his middle stage, he was able to take his earnings from body building and invest in real estate….never lose the hustle.

Why does this matter?

  1. Never Audition, Never Settle, Create your own role

Arnold wanted to be a movie star. But he quickly realized that he was not going to be the typical cast movie star. Having worked hard in real estate he was not desperate to take any acting job.

In fact, he never auditioned. He created his own niche, role.

When he did Terminator, Jim Cameron said if we wouldn’t have had Schwarzenegger, then we couldn’t have done the movie because only he sounded like a machine.

2. Clear Vision breeds confidence and success

Arnold''s vision of winning Mr. Universe empowered him 5 hours a day to relentlessly working out.

Every aspect of his workout routine he envisioned himself winning the Mr. Universe.

We must all be true to our vision and make sure we are aligned with our authentic self and allow to realize our niche while we hustle. It takes time for the market to realize our unique greatness. We cannot give up. Jack Ma had a vision for the internet in China with no technical or engineering knowledge. He was gifted at gathering people, activating them, and innocently optimistic about the world of crazy possibilities. He still today speaks highly of Forrest Gump as a great inspiration when he wanted to give up.
