Never allow people to determine what your definition of SUCCESS is...!!!

One of the biggest lessons I learned in my career was to define what success looked like for myself vs. what someone else thought I ought to be doing. In a world of collaborative-working and group-think, there will be plenty of eager people who will pursue your talents, gifts, and skills to support their own causes. 

You must be steadfast on where your passion lies and always ask yourself if supporting their cause aligns with and moves your further towards your vision, as well. By defining your vision goals and mission you’re able to take a stance around what will and won’t do.

However, determining success can be difficult, as the term itself is quite abstract. In order to determine success for yourself, take a look at your own personal goals, interests, and passions. Then, formulate a definition of success that's personally meaningful for you.

You should also examine factors that are deemed important to you. For example, do you crave prestige and honor? Does climbing the corporate ladder, making connections, and closing deals sound like an ideal career?
