The neuroscience of healing
"Emotional healing is a fundamental requirement to attract love and to sustain a relationship. Emotional healing is often renegaded to unscientific woowoo.
Throughout life, there are minor or major traumas either through relationship or financial loss or others. The impact of these outer traumas (both minor and major) leave deep impressions in the limbic system particularly, the amygdala and puts the amygdala in an emotional lock. Neuro-physiologically, the neuronal grooves get deeper with increased gray matter density through increased cerebral blood flow.
Whenever a similar looking situation comes up in life, the lock in the amygdala, having gotten stronger expresses phenotypic symptoms of fear/anxiety/ flight.
Healing is an opposite experience of trauma. Through Yoga meditation, you can consciously reverse blood flow from the amygdala thereby decreasing its gray matter density. Neuro-scientific studies have shown that those same experiences come up but after meditation, you may not be as affected emotionally.
