Neurodiversity Employment At The Forefront

Neurodiversity Employment At The Forefront

A Note From Our CEO

Greetings for Texas!? I hope this note finds you all doing well.?

We are seeing a good deal of activity with new organizations entering the neurodiversity space.? First let me say, this is a good thing!? The increased attention from regional start-ups, non-profits and others signifies that the ND movement is still growing and evolving.? New perspectives, provided they are truly new and not regurgitated corporate-speak, can bring more innovation as we still have a long way to go.

My second thought on this topic is toward employers.? With new names entering the space, some may be thinking – how do I decide which partner is best for me?? In this, there are some consistent truths from our perspective.? While there is no one way to launch a program, we hear fairly consistently, that the following are worth considering:?

First, what do you really want to accomplish?? Training leaders and teams is usually high on this list, but also you may want to think about how you want to “operationalize” the effort?? Training to what end?? Are you looking for new pools of talent?? To improve retention? ?Something else with your workforce?? A good partner should help you to flesh this out.

Next, think about where in your organization you want to start.? Who are likely early adopters?? Who will need convincing?? If you are thinking about a recruiting pilot (and we recommend you do if possible), what roles do you need to fill anyway?? What recruiting metrics (time to fill, etc.) could be improved?? If training is your focus, how can ND workshops augment what you are already doing?? This work should be a continuation of your human capital strategy.

Last, think about what stakeholders you need to enlist?? How can this initiative meet some of their current priorities?? Your CIO will likely have different wants/needs as compared to your CHRO.? It’s worth remembering that what makes an organization neuroinclusive should benefit all employees.? At the end of the day, we all have more in common than not.?

God Bless,

Jeff??

Event Spotlight: Leveraging Neurodiversity For Organizational Impact, Presented by Jeff Miller

Our CEO, Jeff Miller , will be kicking off November at the Association for Talent Development in Fort Worth, TX. This event will explore the importance of understanding, supporting, and leveraging the cognitive diversity within the workforce. The session will be held both virtually via Zoom and in-person at Diamond Oaks Country Club.

Jeff will address how organizations can and will benefit from embracing neurodiversity. With as much as 25% of the U.S. population being neurodistinct, and many being sidelined within the world of work despite their strengths, he will lay a baseline for organizations to begin improving their recruiting and retention efforts by fostering a neuroinclusive environment.

Are you ready to Think Differently in Texas? Don’t miss out on the chance to gain insights that could drive innovation and improve your workplace culture.?

WEF: CHO's Should Help Spearhead Neuroinclusion Efforts

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has recently released a brief outlining the critical role that Chief Health Officers (CHOs) can play in advancing neuroinclusion within organizations. As awareness of neurodiversity grows, CHOs are uniquely positioned to lead initiatives that foster an inclusive, healthy, and psychologically safe work environment.

Here are the key calls to action for CHOs and their teams:

1. Advocate for Cultural Change

2. Review Support Systems

3. Enhance Policies and Training

4. Integrate Neuroscience-Based Advice

5. Tailor Workplace Accommodations

6. Promote Team Harmony
