Neurodiversity & ADHD

Only a few years ago, I rarely heard mention of neurodiversity in the criminal justice sector. It didn't matter that I knew I had ADHD myself, it just wasn't part of the conversation, and I rarely considered it as a possible diagnosis for the men I worked with in prison.
Thankfully, things are changing now.
What I'm Reading -
The City of London police are piloting a scheme that screens people who have been arrested for ADHD. The organisation ADHD Liberty has developed the checklist that will be used in police stations, with the aim of fasting track diagnosis and treatment for those arrested.
What I'm Listening to -
The ADHD Chatter Podcast. On this episode, Carl Mumford and Daley Jones talk about their work with the ADHD Alliance, which was formed to support colleagues with ADHD in blue light emergency services, and drive the criminal justice system to better understand neurodiversity. Listen to the conversation here.

Events I Want to Attend -
Seed Talks run really interesting, in-person events about ADHD all around the country (with some online, too). In July, there's an event - The Science of ADHD: Navigating Neurodiversity in a Neurotypical World - that's on in a few different locations. Even if you can't make it to these ones, there'll be some more great events in the future.
What I'm Working On -
I've started writing articles, recording podcasts and interviewing some brilliant people about what it's like to live with ADHD. There'll be tonnes of content coming out in the next few weeks. So, if you want to learn more, click here.
My DMs are always open, so please do get in touch if you want to talk about any of the subjects covered today or know about other organisations doing great work.
