Neurodivergent Thinking
In having Autism well originally Asperger's Syndrome Level 1, I am grateful for the term Neurodivergence as to thinking. I have long wondered why my thinking and functioning has been different in terms of ways of processing information differently. In writing this post for instance, I struggle between visual and text when conveying my thoughts. I often feel that I can say a lot but being pressured by the world's ways can often be a challenge. For instance, my brain needs to work harder in navigating this world and for this often there can be times of confusion and meltdowns. I wonder with so many future generations of those who are also Neurodivergent if the system is failing them like it did myself in imposing methods of learning which differed to Neurodivergence?
If you imagine the picture above you see different branches entwined on the tree trunk. The neurodivergent brain perhaps finds more pathways to navigate its way around confusion in a busy and stressful world. As I look into further research into Autism and ADHD to understand my own brain and a means of better communication and function, I feel the need to explore Neurodivergence more. I was often told I was lazy and lived in my own world when I was younger, and being Neurodivergent does raise some interesting concepts. I feel it necessary therefore to explore Neurodivergence and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria more to explore behaviours into my own ways of thinking and functioning. What link is there between Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria and Mental Health? Should more research and investigation be required? What is Double Empathy? What do we know about Neurodivergent brain etc?

I find navigating the world not always easy. I need to rely more on intelligence than application to just do the simple things. Perhaps for many with a Neurodivergent brain, the brain needs to work harder at processing information as well as communication? I have some friends who have Autism, ADHD and ADD etc. I find we have unique ways of thinking and another sensory processing means which perhaps is a result of being Neurodivergent? The difficulties are that the world tries to crush us like a grape and expect us to fit in with so called 'normal' behaviours which often are abnormal when you look into them more. Nobody is perfect and for me I look to Christ as the means of perfection.
It is great to have friends on the Autism Spectrum who are studying psychology, exercise and doing advocacy work as well. I would also like to pursue more research myself into a chosen topic area of Autism and ADHD. It is very early stages yet as I work through an approach to get the ball rolling!
