Hello, Lovely People of LinkedIn ??
As the week comes to an end, I thought I’d share a quick update with you. I’m thinking about making this a regular thing, so I’d love for you to join me on this journey! ??
Personal Reflections: Navigating Loss and Growth ??
I’m still finding my feet after losing my mum, which has been tough. But this week, I threw myself into a business boot camp called NECA 4 - Business for Creatives. It’s been all about business planning and time management—two areas that are crucial for any creative project.
Discovering a Love for Business Planning ??
To my surprise, I’ve realised that I’m pretty good at business planning, and dare I say, I even enjoy it! With a bit of help from my trusty AI ??, I’ve already whipped up a business plan. During the seminar, we dug into the Business Model Canvas—a tool new to me but incredibly useful for mapping out where my business stands right now. Next up is figuring out the future and plotting the steps to get there. It’s a bit different from what I’m used to, but I reckon it’ll be worth it.
Tackling Time Management ?
We also looked at a bunch of time management techniques—an area where I could definitely up my game! We covered things like time blocking, “eating the frog” ??, Pomodoro ??, and loads more like the Eisenhower Matrix and zero inbox ??. With so many options, it’s clear that time management is all about finding what clicks for you.
Gaining Confidence: Offering My Experience ??
One unexpected takeaway from the boot camp is that I’m one of the more experienced folks in the room. It’s given me a real boost of confidence and reminded me that I have a lot to offer. Now, I’m keen to connect with people who could benefit from what I’ve learned—because let’s be honest, the bills still need paying! ??

Focused Marketing: Back to Basics ??
I also had a great chat with my business coach this week. We talked about how I can make my marketing more focused. Rather than getting lost in all the AI options out there, I’m going to stick to some good old-fashioned research and direct marketing. My coach was really positive about what I’ve done so far, which is always nice to hear. ??
A Busy Week: Peer Sessions and Tax Returns ???
This afternoon, I’m heading to a peer group session to reflect on what we’ve learned this week, which I’m looking forward to. And in some good news, I finally got my self-assessment tax returns done for the last two years. The best part? I might be getting a refund—fingers crossed! ??
My Neurodivergent Superpower: Business Admin and Finances ????
Unusually for someone with ADHD, I actually enjoy getting stuck into business admin and finances. Maybe it’s the autistic side of me, but once I start, I get into this hyperfocus zone where I won’t stop until the job’s done!
My Key Takeaways This Week ??
Over to You ??
