Greener Data Exchange at ITW 2024: The Recap?

At the recent International Telecoms Week - ITW | a techoraco brand , I had the privilege of participating in the Greener Data panel as part of the Greener Data Exchange, a celebration of the launch of "Greener Data - Volume Two." Hosted by Jaymie Scotto Cutaia , CEO of JSA, the panel brought together seven Greener Data authors and supporters, all united in a commitment to a greener future, including:

Bloom Energy Powers the Largest Fuel Cell Data Center in Silicon Valley

Intel has chosen Bloom Energy to supply additional solid oxide fuel cells for its Silicon Valley data center, making it the largest fuel cell-powered HPC data center in the region. This deployment underscores Intel’s commitment to extreme energy efficiency and high-performance computing.

The fuel cells will enable the data center to operate independently as a microgrid, ensuring continuous power even during grid outages.

Bloom Energy’s CTO, Ravi Prasher, highlighted the technology’s compatibility with hydrogen, stating, “Our technology aligns with future energy strategies, offering a sustainable and scalable solution for high-performance computing needs.”

This expansion enhances operational efficiency and showcases Intel's and Bloom Energy's dedication to pioneering sustainable innovations in data center operations.

BIOGAS AMERICAS: A Look Back

This month, several of my colleagues represented Bloom Energy at BIOGAS AMERICAS, where Bloom was the proud title sponsor. Our Managing Director of Waste to Energy, Ivor Castelino, led a panel on emerging markets, showcasing our leadership in the biogas sector. He was joined by industry experts who discussed hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, and innovative market opportunities.

In the 'Waste to Watts: New Strategies in Electricity Markets' session, Bloom's Senior Manager for Waste to Energy, Paul Gibson , provided valuable insights into how our industry is influencing the future of electricity landscapes. Bloom’s Q1 Earning Report Announced?

Bloom’s latest Earnings Report is live, and it reflects a period of strong market interest and robust commercial activity. Here are some key highlights from the report:

• Revenue: Achieved $235.3 million in Q1 2024.
• Gross Margin: Maintained a non-GAAP gross margin of 17.5%.
• Operational Improvement: Reduced operating loss by $14.7 million compared to Q1 2023.

But there is still much to do as our CEO looks forward to 2024:

“We are seeing strong market interest, increasing momentum, and robust commercial activity across diverse end markets. In addition to data centers, we view AI hardware supply chain industries as a good growth opportunity for Bloom, both in the US and in Asia.
