The first impression you leave when meeting someone for the first time, whether for business or pleasure, leaves a lasting impact.

We all know you get one chance to make a great first impression. ?

I know there have been times (certainly in my corporate life) when I have met someone for the first time, and I’ve not been on my A game. I’ve been distracted or I’ve not done the right prep before, and I feel as though I’ve let myself down. [I can be pretty hard on myself]

I’m a big believer in when you meet someone for the first time you should give them your full attention and be only focused on them.

OMG so easy to say, but so tricky to do, when we are all being pulled in so many directions.

How would new connections describe their first impression of you? If you’ve not asked, it’s a great question to ask.

I asked my regular networking connections which 3 words they’d use to describe their first impression of me. The word that came up time and time again was ‘welcoming’, which has a definition of polite and friendly.

If making a great first impression for you and your business is important to you then one surefire way you can help yourself in business, is to Perfect Your Pitch.

Be on your A game when asked who you help and what it is you do.

Be on your A game when asked what makes you unique.

Be on your A game when asked how I can help you.

I’m not saying deliver a robotic 60 second pitch when asked what you do. No-one wants to hear that.

But if you struggle to remember everything you want to say, whilst making the person you are talking to feel like they are the only person in the room, having your pitch nailed will 100% help.

For me a great pitch is made up of 6 elements – grab a copy of my? Free Perfect Your Pitch download to find out more, and get an example to follow, as well as create your own.

I’ll be sharing details of my new Perfect Your Pitch Bootcamp that’s coming soon in April, for just £19. If you’d like to find out more then click here.
