What types of businesses do you know that have busy hands?
This was lightbulb moment Vicky had (another Vicky not me) on this week’s Perfect Your Pitch Bootcamp.
Vicky (again not me) is a bookkeeper who openly admits winging her pitch when she goes to network.
One of the activities on the bootcamp was to do some deep dive work on your ideal client – not that scratching the surface stuff.
After looking at her past clients (and clients she enjoyed working with) she realised one thing they had in common.
[Taking a look back at your clients will always give you insight into what types of businesses you do, and don't, want to work with]
For Vicky, these ideal clients had their hands busy all day whilst at work.
And the last thing they want to do once they’ve finished is raise invoices, chase invoices, and balance their books - ideal clients for a bookkeeper.
How many businesses can you name that have ‘busy hands?

I’ll get you started with a few: Dog groomer, Hairdresser, Beauty Therapist, Tattoo Artist, Florist, Mechanic, Baker, Landscaper…..you get the idea. Drop any of you think of in the comments, be creative.
This ‘aha’ moment has opened up a new avenue to explore when networking.
BUT Having a great pitch is just one part of networking.
It’s no good having a great pitch but not knowing WHO, HOW and WHERE to network, or not have any GOALS set.
My Networking for Success Bootcamp kicks off for 4 weeks on Wednesday 5th June at 7pm on zoom.
Each session will be 1 hour and I’ll be covering the who, how, where of networking, plus how to set your goals.
